All-South Texas MVP: Brewer makes impact in many ways for Bluff basketball
Flour Bluff boys basketball coach Robert Dodd likes to pick the brains of his counterparts, typically after the Hornets have wrapped a game.
The point of this exercise is to dig up feedback, good or bad, for future application or consideration.
Junior forward Cody Brewer, the 2015 Caller-Times All-South Texas Most Valuable Player, often is the topic of discussion.
All-South Texas MVP: Whittington takes on leadership role as a senior
Darias Whittington’s brother isn’t the only one in his family that can say he was a Caller-Times All-South Texas Basketball MVP for Carroll High School.
The Tigers’ 5-foot-5 senior point guard, Darias, joined her older brother DaMarcus in that regard this season by earning 2015 Caller-Times All-South Texas Girls Basketball MVP honors.
“We always compete in everything we do,” Darias said of she and DaMarcus. “He might have gotten two (of those MVP honors), but at least I got one.”
